Getting Here

Villa Barberino is conveniently located in the heart of Tuscany. It's an easy trip whether you're coming from Florence, Pisa, or Rome. See below for travel suggestions.

Flying in

Florence (FLR) is the closest airport, about 40 minutes from the villa. Pisa (PSA) is another good option, roughly an hour and fifty minutes away, and can be a little cheaper. If you're making a trip of it, Rome (FCO) tends to have the best international options - it's about two and a half hours away by car or train.

By train

From Florence, a regional train reaches San Giovanni Valdarno — the closest station to the villa — in about 40 minutes, and they run all day with relatively cheap fares. From there it's a 15-minute taxi or bus transfer to Villa Barberino. Coming from Rome, take a Frecciarossa high-speed train up to Florence (about 1h20), then change to the regional line back down to San Giovanni Valdarno (40 minutes).

By car

A car is by far the best way to explore Italy. The drive to the villa is about 40 minutes from Florence, an hour and a half from Pisa, and two and a half hours from Rome, all of it through classic Tuscan countryside. A few Italy notes: get an International Driving Permit, book early to secure an automatic if you don't drive stick, and watch out for limited-traffic zones in town centers. There's parking at the villa.

The Venue

Featuring panoramic views of the Tuscan hills, Villa Barberino sits between the Valdarno and Chianti valleys. The villa is a fully restored medieval estate that dates back to ancient times, family-owned since its restoration in 1988.

There’s an outdoor pool and full-service restaurant on-site, as well as activities to do around the area like horseback riding, winery tours and tastings, and visiting local historic sites.
